I am currently reading:
The Theology of Karl Barth by Hans Urs Von Balthasar
I started this book once, but failed to finish it; this time I will. This work comes with high regard, so I am really looking forward to getting into it; especially to see how Balthasar critiques the analogia entis within Barth’s own theology, if in fact there is one.
After Our Likeness: The Church as the Image of the Trinity by Miroslav Volf
I’ve been wanting to read Metzger and Harper’s book on Ecclesiology, but it’s never available at my library; so I opted for Volf’s book, I became aware of this work by noticing it over at Travis’ (as one of his current reads) — so thanks, Travis!
Calvin by Bruce Gordon
I am really excited to dig into this work, just out, on Calvin. I’ll be interested in comparing Gordon’s work with Muller, Steinmetz, and Parker’s pieces on Calvin.
Now, my dilemma is that I only have these books for three weeks (I can always renew at my theo-library); but I would prefer to finish these books in that allotted time. The reading between the three = 1,023 pages. Do you think I’ll be able to finish these in that time? I’m not sure, but I’m going to give it a shot . . . my blogging will probably not be as prolific; I’m sure, though, that I’ll be quoting a bit from these books — here and there. Stay tuned . . .
