Good theology is provisional because God is ‘not finished’ yet! If God is dynamically related, via the persons of the trinity, then his very nature dictates that theology, human talk about Him, and to Him, must also be seen as dynamic and constantly ‘growing’ towards Him—i.e. there is eschatological telos (purpose) to theology. The church continues to grow in ‘her’ knowledge of Him, and her knowledge of Him will only cease being provisional when she is finally consummated with Him at the ‘Marriage Supper Feast’. Therefore any theology that is non-provisional or static in its approach is “bad theology.”
